'03-'05 3.0 Supercharger candidates?
Hi Folks,
I've spoken with Active Autowerke (www.activeautowerke.com) and they have a supercharger kit available for the 3.0 engine (2003-2005 only). However, they are based in Miami and need to test fit a car with the kit before its available for the Z4. They are willing to offer a discount to anyone who is willing to purchase a kit. Right now, retail on the kit is $4400 + labor. That means you would walk out the door for around 5 grand with an extra 120HP! I am located in CT, otherwise I would take them up on their offer. If anyone in the South is interested, please respond. I'd love to get a SC on the car, but it is too cost prohibitive to ship the car to FL and then ship it back, and I don't have time to drive down. This is a great way to spend 5 grand and get M power levels. Yes, the stock drivetrain can handle it. Thanks, Chris

Why not just go with ESS?

It's $2500 more. It does use a twin-screw blower which is nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the 50% increase in price.
Plus, ESS isn't any closer to me than AA is Chris

A personal contact is going to check with the owners of AA to see if they would be willing to do a tune remotely and work with Turner Motorsport in programming the cars code.
Are there any '03-'05 3.0 owners interested? You would be getting a supercharger kit for ~$4400, plus labor (around $1000)...and right now there is special pricing in effect which might drop the price to around 5 grand. It's a heck of a deal for such a performance increase. Chris

I may look into the AA kit if my 3.0i doesn't sell in the next few months.

The more folks that show interest the more we'll have a shot at this. The kit is already developed, we just need the coding done to our cars. Our ECU is coded differently than a E46 ECU, despite the engines being the same. Chris

I can't justify $7500 for a supercharger kit, thats over half the value of my car $5k is more manageable. Chris
