19" on '03 2.5 sport?

I am thinking of buying 19" wheels for my 2.5 sport. What size are the stock 17" turbine wheels and what is a good size for the 19s? Any rubbing issues? Also, will it look like I'm driving a 4x4 if I don't get it lowered?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hi

No probs at all with 19s on a Z4

Mine is a 2006 z4 coupe, its a SE so no M suspension just standard

These are Ac Schnitzer 19"

235 front and 285 back

Ive never noticed any rub, however the size of them does mean that you wont be able to change headlight and foglight bulbs due to clearance ( you will have to take the wheels off )

Cheers

hi

those are quite aggressive looking wheels..... I think the dark body color allows the vehicle to sit where it currently is without looking too high (not as noticeable as say silver or white) - but having said that I think lowering would be nice as well.....

how wide are your rims? and what are your tire specs?

thanks for the advice - I was beginning to think no one would respond..... fairly new to the forum - just been voyeuring since I am not technically knowledgeable.....

I think 19" on regular Z's look little obnoxious if not done correctly.
But there are many owners who have done fabulous job on their cars with 19".

yes, i agree..... I am still looking at options at this point (Tire Rack has 19" Rial Daytona Race for closeout price of $199) which is why it started me thinking..... fellow zpost member from GVfB in Belgium has the 18" version and it looks great in my opinion (search Rial Daytona in this website - I have asked similar questions on that thread).....

it all started with needing new tires..... and once I started looking I thought why not see if I can freshen up the appearance of my 4 year old car - I still like the original factory turbine wheels.....

anyone with photos of a "classy" 19" setup on 2.5 factory sport suspension? please provide comments on rubbing etc.....

thanks.....

The Rial Daytona's are awesome rims.... I recommend you go with either an 18" or 19" staggered fitment and lower the car. Good luck!

Haw, here's the setup I'm running: 19's on a 3.0 with sport suspension. With the proper offset, there's no problem running 225/35 and 255/30

I wouldn't put 19" wheels on a 2.5i though, unless it's some forged light-weight wheel around 20lbs or less. Heavier 19" wheels will slow down a 2.5i too much.
