The new hotness!

Seems like everyone has been picking up M coupes lately. Here's mine!

It's sitting next to the 3.0si I bought new almost 3 years ago. Weather was kind of crappy today so I didn't get a chance to take more pictures.

Had I actually test driven the M coupe when I was first shopping, there's no way I would have been able to pass it up. The Z4 coupe makes driving a lot of fun, but the M makes driving absolutely exhilarating. The subtle styling enhancements represent the culmination of the Z4's design IMO.

Fortunately, after about 2 long months, I found the perfect car. Mileage was almost identical to my car when I traded it in (~15.5K miles), and it has the same configuration as my car (aluminum trim, black seats, PP, HS) plus a few extra goodies (nav, extended leather). It was bought and driven in southern California, Carfax and service history is perfect with no warranty claims, and the exterior is pristine with all original paint except for some touch ups on front bumper, which I'm probably going to replace anyway. Front license plate holes be damned!

In fact, I wanted first dibs so bad that I showed up at the dealer before the truck arrived to drop it off.

A lot of people have been saying this, but the extended leather really is a nice touch. I don't know if I would have gotten it new, but seeing it in person, it really classes up the interior quite a bit. There's a lot less plastic in the interior now.

Better pictures are forthcoming...

Congrats man - I know exactly how you feel. When the lease on my si coupe ended I had to buy the M coupe. They are definitely different beasts!

As for the extended leather - I love it!
You are right though I probably would have never gotten it originally but since the car I bought it had it I was thrilled. It really makes the interior much more classier and luxurious for a sports car!

By the way these may help with the holes in your bumper:

Congrats! Any plans to attend a ChitownM meet soon? There's one tomorrow by the BWW in Crown Village Shopping Center, Skokie; I'd love to check it out, as I've never actually seen extended leather, and you could sample the 3.91 diff in mine.

I'd love to, although I'm not sure when I might be free tomorrow since I'll probably have to stay at work a little later to finish what I didn't today (too excited, had to leave work early to pick up car). What time will it be? I'm out in Elmhurst so it's not too far from where I am.

In the event that I won't be able to make it. When's the next one? I'd love to check out some local Ms.

Thanks for the link! There are a couple of other imperfections with the front bumper that makes me want to just replace it instead: a bit of not visible curb rash on the bottom on the "fangs", some indented grooves from where the front license plate bracket was mounted, and a bit of cracked plastic on the inside ring holding the grill. Nothing major...probably the result of a "love tap" from some careless parallel parking (I had a PPI done by a highly recommended indy shop and they didn't find any evidence of a real collision, so this is my guess). Figured the cost of repair vs. getting a brand new bumper painted probably wasn't going to be too different, especially if I did the install myself. I just placed an order for a new bumper ($368.64) along with the aero side skirts from Tischer.

ChitownM meets weekly, every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Usually the meets are in Skokie for 3 weeks, then in Schaumburg for 1. The club founder has said next week's will be at a new location, but hasn't said where yet.

I agree it can be tricky getting to meets during the week, so I don't often make it myself, but I'm on 2 weeks vacation currently so this is a good window.

Congrats on the new ride.

Just a suggestion.
If you're thinking about doing anything with the reflectors, now is the time.
Get the bodyshop to fill them in prior to painting it.

Thanks for the suggestion -- that's exactly what I was planning to do.

Can't wait to drive her home tonight! I need to remember to reset the adaptive throttle -- it feels a little less sensitive than some other Z4M's I've test driven.

Sounds good
I'm doing that over the winter when the car is off the road.
I'm also going to do the headlight washer delete at the same time.
