Take a look at this listing. It's in Texas, Interlagos Blue, 23K miles. Highly recommended buy: car has been meticulously maintained by a forum member and has tasteful mods.

I know you said you didn't want Black but thought I'd throw it out there. It is in your area.

Peter, sorry I am not trying to hikack your thread, I just have the same interest and found everyones opinions to be useful. Yes, thanks Finnegan and Neverlift, those look good. the black one in CT looks pretty solid.

At this point, I seem pretty stuck on wanting a 2008 (in Grey). Have found very few of them obviously.

Other thing I am trying to decide is how much of a premium will a lower mileage '08 cost vs an '07? In the +3k to 5k area? Curious as to anyones thoughts......

2008 in Grey = needle in a haystack. If this is the color you want and you find a solid car in that particular color, pull the trigger. If you aren't aware, there were about 1200 07's z4mc and 300 08's made in NA. Combine that with a rare color and you have a very rare car...
(Someone correct me if my numbers are way off, I think that's about ballpark, but didn't want to take the time looking up the thread.)

I would guess an 08 vs 07 would be around 4-6k difference.

There were 1815 M Coupes produced for NA. My Blue '07 w 24K miles is for sale as Finnegan mentioned. They are getting more and more rare.

Thats great info, thank you. It pretty much verifies in my mind, what i've been thinking about re: the various model years (and I too have seen production numbers as youve described). I'm patient and have been waiting and watching for over a year. Now i'm finally in a position to get one, but within the budget of course...

ha, yes indeed. I'll probably be sticking around these boards now (never used them before), as its great info flow. I'll keep you posted if I end up getting something. vice versa if you want.

Been keeping a close eye on these z4mc's for a good 12-18 months, and finally had a chance to drive one for about a week recently. It just verified for me that I want one bad enough to move forward with an actual purchase. i like to do ample research... 12 to 18 months!

Good luck as well.

So are M Coupes actually selling for north of $30K again? It seemed I was seeing lots of high $20s earlier this year. (Though I'm sure if the OP is really insisting on a low mileage '08 of a specific color that could drive the price way up)

Space Grey

There were 48 Space Grey MC's built.. All of them were 2008 models.. I feel fortunate to have one.. I really wanted Interlagos Blue, but once I saw the 08 Space Grey with low miles, I had to have it.. Good luck with the search..

If this posts correctly, it's the parameters for searching hard top coupes via auto trader:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/search...ncremental=All

I just went through this process myself. Waiting for my Ti Silver 2007 Z4M Coupe to arrive on he truck from Chicago.

Congratulations, and thank you for the help. I've included AutoTrader in my search for a few weeks. Actually, the one that looks the most promising will have come from there.

I was very specific in what I wanted - a car with factory warranty left, light exterior, red interior. Ideally there would be the suspension mods I was looking for. After 3 months of waiting, I found and immediately bought a fully optioned (HD radio) off lease 2008 Space Grey/Imola Red/Wood (less than 30 cars were built after it) last month with factory warranty until 10/2012. It was fully cleaned up by the dealer who had to install new front tires. The pricing was very reasonable.

I've found that when it appears on AutoTrader you've probably already lost a few days if you're looking for very particular car.

- Look on the BMWUSA site for lease turn ins. I called the dealer about the car I bought when it first listed and it did not have any information other than mileage. It wasn't until a few days before it appeared on AutoTrader with incomplete information. It was never properly represented before I bought it.

- I had also a local wholesaler looking at Manheim Auctions for me. Only one (happened to be Grey!) showed up in Manheim PA, but it had 8k miles and was too highly priced.

- I spoke with the folks at EnthusiastAuto.com (Cincinatti) who are able to find the special cars within 5-10 minutes of them being posted. They've had some Z4 M Coupes posted in the last few months.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks again for more great ideas of places to look. I havent gotten to the auction point yet, thinking I will eventually find it buried here in a forum thread or on cars.com (lacking recently). Autotrader has more to view. I had given up on BMWUSA about a year ago so thats worth a re-check, as is the Cincinatti outfit. Sounds like you found another excellent Grey '08... well done!

Well, I have found that needle in a haystack. Will post it up on the main page when it arrives, but an '08 with low miles in Space Grey is going to be on its way by saturday.... I hope to be around for a long time.
