Strut dust boot problem

I was doing my tire changeover today and noticed that both the front strut boot/dust covers were completely crushed. There was no cut in them. I tried to get them out to length but would go out the length.

I called the dealership and was told that this is something they would not cover on the 4 year warranty. Does anyone have any input on this?

^I agree.
Not the best design, they all end up that way.

Really? Wow. Do you guys try to get them out to length or is it a waste of time?

Waste of time. If you drive regularly it'll look like that again within a few weeks.

Mine are sort of like that as well. I figured when your struts are not stretched out as they are on the lift, the dust boots would cover most of what's exposed.

I had my wheels off a few weeks ago and noticed the same exact thing. I figured it was probably normal and when the suspension has load they aren't going to be stretched anyway.
