V1 vs. 9500ix

So I've read up on the differences between the V1 and the Escort 9500ix and it looks like the V1 is the safer decision, although more annoying. However, I just wanted to get some feedback from people in the tri-state area with their input. Thanks!

Love my 9500 but I believe the V1 has better highway range. It comes down to using common sense. If the popo have instant on and your the only car on the road for 5-6 miles, your screwed anyway. So I try to speed smart. Plus like not having falsies.

I have both. Although, the V1 is a bit more chatty, I still prefer it over the 9500ix. If set up properly, you can greatly reduce its "chattiness" on the V1.

Mousitch, where do you have your 9500ix mounted? The light sensor for the display is horrible when mounted high (left or right of the mirror).

9500ix is what I run. I have it mounted high left and I don't think I have a problem.

In today's technology, all detectors have sufficient range for highway. You'll both catch the LEO well before you're in trouble.

POP, I/O, O/A is a discussion in itself, IMO I think the 9500ix does better at O/A

+1. the volume knob works great for the chatty areas, and I dont know about you, but I dont speed around town in these densely populated parts of the state. So I dont need to hear where every 'bogey' is. It basically stays on mute unless I am in remote areas where it's put to real work. chatty problem solved. and you still get those awesome arrows....

If I get the V1 I would get the SAVVY with it so I can have it automatically turn the volume down when I'm driving below a preset speed.

No, I don't bait them but I won't lie. When my V1 picks up a signal on the PIP, I maintain my speed and move to the right lane. I let the guy behind me zoom up on the left and once he passes me then I hard brake. LEO picks him up 5 secs later and it's too late by then.

I guess it could be construed as a d*ck move lol.

I am on the same boat, debating between the two and not pull the trigger yet. i am moving to the Bay Area so i will have to do more researches to see which one is better for that area.
by the way,Turner Motorsports has this on-sale (probably the lowest you could get)

Turner was running a 20% discount on Escort RD last month, which I'd jumped on and got my 9500iX from them. I don't see it anymore, though

I ended up picking up a V1. My wife got it for me for my birthday last April. It's exactly what I expected. Chatty, but great. Thanks for the input everyone
