Got this idea from ROMEO.

The local BMW dealer wanted $60.00 for the buttons, which I promptly explained to them their price is crazy for two little radio buttons. I left quickly!

I then proceeded to order two BMW E83 X3 radio buttons with part # 65 12 9 185 188 and got both of them online for $26.70.

It works well aesthetically with the brushed aluminum trim.

I've done the same mod. Nice "little" upgrade...all about the details.

I have an identical interior - black/aluminum w/Nav. That looks really nice and clean. I'm going to have to do this mod myself Where did you order it from?

I got them from getBMWparts.com. They shipped them the next day and it was only three days after I placed the order that I received them in the mail.

They technically called "Chromring" and the part number was superceded, but they will get you the correct part.

The radio and nav buttons feel better to the touch. And they look much better. You will be happy you got them!

How do you remove the old ones?

They are a little difficult to get leverage on, so I got out my Leathermen and gently pulled them off.

Then just line up the new button with current position of the button tabs and "presto" new cool buttons.

The OE rubber buttons feel low-end but the Chromring buttons feel better.

It a nice little interior upgrade.

This came in a lot sooner than expected from overseas.

Thanks, Deemo! It's quiet when just driving along, but under load, it comes to life. The problem is I want to hear it all the time, so I'm always under load, now.

My mirror was missing its base plate since I got the car last summer.

I cross-referenced my VIN between realoem.com and getbmwparts.com because there are three different mirrors for Z4's.

Ordered the baseplate, it arrived late this afternoon and I installed it.

Getting the last tab to close at the top isn't easy as it is slightly difficult to get enough leverage to close it.

It looks much better than it did previously though.

Mine fell off once while I had the top down and landed in my lap.
Of course, my first thought since the top was down was "OMG the Queen of something just flew in here and it's gonna sting me in the crotch !!!".

Ohh ... it's the plastic thing off the mirror.

I gotta ease up on the coffee.

That's funny! You never know what will fly into the car while driving.

Or fall off the car.

Thanks, Vanne. I just saw your post. Sorry I missed it earlier. The Gruppe-M is nice, but it can't hold a candle to your new intake. That thing sounds amazing. I love how it snorts when you goose the throttle.

It is a special K&N filter. You can see the filter here. It's a K&N with a smooth domed top. The inside has a similar smooth dome.

Here is the actual part number for the filter:
