Squidd99 ,
Plate has been relocated to the front tow hook license plate mount. Doesn't obstruct air flow. Pictures are prior to the relocation. Using painted Montego Blue color button plugs to cover existing holes from the mounting bracket.

Sounds good. Because of the big grille, many Lexus owners, especially RC models, in states that required a front plate, used the license plate holders that employed the tow hook. Seems to work well. For many years, I just left the front plate off. My dealer said nobody ever put one onto an SC400, due to its unusual front end.
Fortunately, I live in the SW corner of the state, where the two neighboring states only required a rear plate, so many cars on our roads had no front plate so mine drew little attention from the po po.

Replaced the VANOS oil pump disc this past weekend for a lower mileage unit… next is changing the VANOS pressure accumulator and then my 4.10 diff. Though the latter may still be until February 2022.

Bought a genuine ZHP weighted gearknob from a dealer. Brilliant purchase, makes the already slick gearbox even better in terms of feel and throw compared to the taller and lighter OEM gear knob. Highly recommend these if you haven't tried them.

Also took a punt on a pair of carbon grilles. Not sure how they will look, will decide when they arrive whether to keep them on or not.

Nice!

I've got the same one waiting to be installed together with Autosolution SSK. But need to teach my son to drive manual first (so I'll replace the clutch at the same time )

Hmm... will see after I install it. It's an easy thing to replace anyway

Carbon wrapped my gear surround and the small slide out panel near the handbrake. Turned out well, pleased with it as the black plastic underneath had a few annoying scratches in it. I'm looking at wrapping the brushed aluminium trim in the centre console but it is a complete faff to remove I believe so for now I decided to just do the easy parts. I think it gives a decent contrast between the light and dark pieces.

For my 3.0i, found a BMW 530i using the same N52 engine with the 255HP intake manifold in a nearby junkyard. Got that with throttle body and MAF along with a new leather shifter boot. Started taking off the existing intake manifold. Got in some new emblems from ECS and a replacement vacuum hose.

Did you do that yourself? Where did you get the material?

Looks great!

Thanks!! I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Yes, didn't take long......an hour tops with a hairdryer and a craft knife. It was on Amazon, link below. I've wrapped various things over the years on my motorbikes using different types of wrap. This stuff is pretty damn decent compared to some. Easy to work with and the finish is very good once applied

My carbon/gloss black front grilles arrived today in the post. Have fitted them and I'm pleased with the looks - will take a photo soon and post it but the car is filthy this afternoon after a commute to and from work so I will wash her first!

Also swapped all interior lightbulbs including the boot to LED's, much crisper looking

You're going to love it! (I had a 3.0si.) Pretty sure you need a tune as well. Let us know how it goes.

Yes, know about the tune. Got the manifold installed already and downloaded the SI tune from bimmerlabs. A buddy has a computer and cable so getting that tomorrow and planning the ECU tune over the weekend.

Gloss black grilles with carbon surrounds fitted today. They were supposed to be all carbon, including the slats but I think I prefer them this way instead. Wasn't sure how they would look against the Montego blue but I quite like them so far.
