2007 Z4- What comms cable?

Hey guys, I just picked up a 07 3.0i 6 sp- love it minus the RFT tires and this nagging airbag light.

Im trying to connect INPA to diagnose the issue. I have the latest version installed and it worked on my 335i with no issues- however on the Z4 I can only access the Engine module. Everything else gives me a time out error for no communications with control unit.

Its a K+DCAN cable, plugs into USB.

Any ideas? Do I need a different cable or software?

I'll weigh in - the software I have for the 07 Z4M does not work with my 08 328. I'm going to say it's a software issue - mine also times out and gives the communication error.

I'll wait for someone like ShipKiller to weigh his opinion but going off my fuzzy memory, what you need to do is solder two pins on the connector and it will work. Do a bit of search on coding and software set up on this forum. Answer is definitely there.

Every time I feel like I'm reasonably competent with the software sides of things I get a real hard smackdown when I try looking into this myself.

I'd love to see an answer to this question myself too, anything to simplify the process of getting an at-home setup for diag and programming these cars.
