Looks pretty doable if your problem is indeed your battery. Involves cutting open the key housing. Here's also a link to the battery i think you need. Pretty sure that's the one but not 100% sure.

I replaced the battery in mine.

I bought a rechargeable Panasonic battery and found out that contact tabs from key fob will not ever solder onto the battery.

So you have to make sure you buy the battery with bmw key specific tabs already stamped.

New member here, I am recharging my keys when not in use on my toothbrush chàrger, seems to work.

I never thought about that. I usually just swap keys periodically. We have Sonicare toothbrushes. Do you know if it will charge if the toothbrush is charging, or it is one at a time? And how close does it have to be?
