Great Work! I have followed this the whole way.
I am wondering if you have a preferred brand of foam for the cannon, or is it like any other soap for washing a car (personal preference)?
Not sure if it makes a difference, but I had the paint corrected and ceramic coated last year.

Thanks, I was using Adams strip wash in that photo but any soap designed for a foam cannon is good.

well done grannyknot!
this was such a deep-dive i don't know where to begin....incredi-hours and acumen spent to "refresh" this marque -

tell us about the maiden launch and voyage - any special local places you took her? are you keeping her for a bit before moving on to the next challenge?

Thank you, no big trips yet, still have a couple of bugs to sort out, some buzzing in the stick shift, could just be the stiffer mounts.
Still have to refill the AC system and get a proper wheel alignment.
Josh at Severn sent me the final Tune to load and just took it out last weekend for a 2 hr. rip to test it out, so much better performance than before.

I don't just mean more power, the consistency, the smoothness, the throttle response all feel better than stock. Just my opinion but the Severn tune is worth every penny, Josh will work with you until you are happy with the results.

It might just be a placebo effect but knowing that every wearable part is now new makes the driving experience more enjoyable. Feels like a new car.

thank you grannyknot,
a 2 hr rip is certainly a shakedown....and the increased performance/driveability pegs out the joy-o-meter.

The coupe is running very well now, I just found the centre section for the exhaust system on ebay and snapped it up.
I have been looking for this piece since I bought the car, the PO had the original mufflers replaced with Rouge Diablo's which sound great, very happy with them but the hack who did the work cut one of the rear pipes too far back and replaced it with a smaller dia. plain steel pipe.

Also, p/u up a new battery cable with explosive disconnect from one of the members here on the forum. Hoping it will finally fix the airbag warning light.

This is the ebay piece that is on it's way.

FWIW -
Purchased my 07 Z4MR in early 2010 and immediately installed Rogue Engineering Diablo mufflers - they were still on the car when I sold it in late 2022 and no rust, no fitment issues, no leaks and sounded as good as day one.

I replaced the main battery cable with the new one and the irritating airbag light on the instrument cluster is gone, YAY.
But the old one doesn't seem to have any problems that I can find
So there is nothing left to do but try and blow the disconnect charge, anyone know what kind of a signal it requires to set off the fireworks?
I tried 12vdc to the 2 wires coming off the top of the charge but no luck.

Typically, MGG devices require 1.75a of current and 12V for at least 5ms.

Maybe yours is bad and that is the cause of your DTC. There could be something wrong with it internally. you can measure resistance and it should be 2 - 2.2homs. just check resistance on the MGG terminal wires, no need to blow it out just to check if it works, unless you want to do it just for fun.
