Ok folks.....been back at the skunk-worx lab and have gotten busy with this again.- ( yes, arm is healed and doing well !)
I'm reviewing my associated costs and out of pocket expenses within the project and its overhead and I have a serious question for any and all who are truly interested in seeing me accomplish this on a full scale. We currently have ten players signed up. Of those ten....how many are ONLY tire kickers ? Believe it or not, I'd like to see this list become as strong as 40-60 units if at all possible. But that is not a deal breaker if it doesn't happen. I'm just trying to foresee several things here. Where I spend my time over the next several months will sharply dictate many things for my future direction. SO if you have friends with Z4 coupes ANYWHERE that you think might be a player, please introduce them to this thread or message me for direct email so we can speak to each other and I can explain in detail what I am doing. I very much appreciate your support !! |

If I had an Alpine White car (hint, hint) I would be in. Love the idea but I don't believe it works on Interlagos.

I need to discuss whether to move forward with my wife, and haven't had time the past few days (travel and etc.).
Please don't read this as negative--it's not intended that way--but a year has past since the initial feeler and since I initially added my name to the list. (I know it's been a tough year with a lot of barriers to say the least!) A lot has changed in our priorities and focus. It took a lot of thought initially to commit to this, and I need to reconsider now with the same careful consideration in order to give a honest and committed reply. |

True. That is sort of shedding light where there is no darkness however. Has there been a large up-sweep in coupe vendors stepping up that I've missed ?
There is a lot of work surrounding this part. There are also only so many hours in a work week . No news there. One of the reasons I made this newest post was to see where people stand and whether or not I should put forth the additional time and cost out of pocket to complete. This has not been cheap or easy time applied. My overhead has continued to increase quarterly. I'll soon enough have the other half of my mold completed and then the seal and fasteners. I do have to pay the bills/overhead in the meantime and its important to consider all things surrounding this decision. |

Dark, i have been watching this tread with severe interest since it began (when i still had the 3.0si coupe), and it pains me that i can't jump on this. i'll keep working on the wife, but the magic 8ball she uses keeps saying "my reply is no".
i seriously hope that more people emerge as participants... this car will look so good with a CF roof! maybe i missed this elsewhere, but what does shipping a CF roof entail? i'm sure it's not cheap, but what about packaging and transportation?

It entails a foam supported box/carton with corner placed wood reinforcements for the roof 4 bolting points to bare the part weight. Not too different from an OEM hood container method. You'd want to re-use the carton to store your metal OEM roof just for safe keeping. |
