LOL. It's funny but I think I'm the only one that realize how things can take some time sometimes.

the good thing is we didn't have to up-front the payment.
I won't be installing until spring, so it's really not an issue for me.

^Haven't heard back from Ronald yet on a SSK for me.
We'll see about the final drive. Weathers looking even better for mid next week. I usually get the car out a couple of times Jan & Feb. |

I'm currently enjoying a rainy day here @ Laguna Seca lol. Good practice/training in the rain =]
Got one good semi-dry run in, but didn't get to time it. But it's started raining again hah. I should've signed up for Sunday as well =[ Didn't know it was gonna rain until a few days prior to track day. The only wet day out of the entire week lol, such luck! |

LOL so during the very first lap of the final session of the day (when track & tire temps dropped back down, and ground was still wet), I unintentionally put on a drift show @ turn 5 for one and all to see. I wish it had somehow been caught on tape so I could share with everyone =[
It felt to me like a millenia, but was probably only about 3-4 seconds worth of sliding around. Turn 5 is a left-hand sweeper just after a short straight, which typically sees speeds in excess of 100mph. As soon as my backend started to kick out past a certain degree, I knew it was trouble. Thank God I had previously taken all opportunities to fool around with my car whenever there was rainfall back @ home in the south bay, otherwise I probably would've panicked and made matters worse. I stayed calm and executed like a pro lol (to my surprise, as well as everyone elses). I ended up modulating the throttle and giving the car an ample amount of counter-steer to first hold the slide, then gradually added more steering angle until the front end started to point in the correct direction (uphill towards turn 6). I guess it was a combination of my goofing off during those rainy days @ home + luck + all-season tires (great @ communicating especially in the wet) + the car being so well designed/settled + some more luck LOL. So yeah, that about sums up my epic downpour survival story @ the legenday Laguna Seca today hahaha I will be back to Laguna Seca again on Dec. 31st =] I hope to get my AutoSolutions SSK installed by them =/ I've gotten quite used to the stock shifter with the UUC "black" tranny mount bushings, but I still really despise the 2nd gear clunk/quasi-grind, and just the overall inaccessibility of gears sometimes. I can't wait for the weighted selector rod feel either ^_^ Last edited by mfanatic325; 11-28-2010 at 12:31 AM.. |

did you ever change your tranny fluid.
I found that Synchromax made a big difference. It really smoothed things out.

I don't want to spend on anything that I might be able to get replaced for free under the maintenance/factory warranty. Currently trying to milk BMW for all they're worth =P
Oh, except for oil and filter changes of course ^_^ |

Sorry, been busy all day. I just upgraded to authentic Volk TE37's at a very decent price too
Now, I need to sell my VT996's =P As for update, here it is: "Unfortunately they are not ready quite yet. I had a personal emergency and was out for a good week. When I got back after thxgiving I had to restart part of the run that ended up out of specs.. The upper shift levers are completed and the pivot bearings as well. I will now tackle the inner levers. Planning to ship in a few days if all goes well. I am sorry for the delay and bears the responsibility for it. Ronald " Sooo almost there I suppose |

Username "bmwtmx" has opted out of the GB list. There is now one official spot open. I have updated the official GB list (found in post #2 of this thread) accordingly.
This means that at least one of the waitlisted people will get a kit once our kits are ready to be shipped out. Please contact Ronald individually if you would like one of these over-batch kits. Good luck |
