I really don't think they are going to reduce the price all that much more... at least I am not expecting it.. They do have to make a profit on the deal..
As much as I like this, I really want to get a harness bar like in the other thread.. I am hoping we can come up with something on that front.... |

I thought of two also. I can see myself topping a curb with it before I get used to the thing sticking out.

I am in. How thick is it? Anyone already thinking of how to protect the bottom from steep driveways or curbs?

This goes to show just how big the pent up demand was.
I recall 4-5 threads about splitters from the past.

As for scraping the underside, I was considering getting skid plates made to duplicate the function of the RPI skid plates.

I agree on the RPI skid plates (which I have and will need to discard). Those plates saved my arse (nose) on several occasions. Maybe one of the inmates has an idea on a template that can be used to fabricate a set or two to fit the cf.

Will it fit a Z4 3.0si?
I'm seriously about to pull the trigger on this deal.
OP- Tell APR that they have at least another 4 or 5 3.0si's with interest if they can accommodate the bumper differences. I have a step son in McKinney , TX who owns a 6 bay 4x4 & auto repair shop. They are always welding and cutting and lifting 4x4 trucks, etc. If he can't make this fit reasonably well, he probably shouldn't be in the business. BTW, he thinks I'm going to give this car to him when I'm done with it. That's years away! Come on OP....get us an answer please! |

Splitter Production Update
I spoke with Tony today about production and price.
Production: Once APR has received payment for 15 or more, APR will begin producing and shipping these out. For those of you that are ready to pay and want to get the splitter ASAP you can contact Tony @ APR to make your payment. We are still going to carry the GB through the two week period, but this will be an opportunity to get your splitter early. Price: The price remains at $272. Tony's contact info: Tony Nguyen TEAM APR APR PERFORMANCE 21037 Commerce Pointe Dr. Walnut, CA 91789, USA Tel (909) 594-3796 Fax(909) 594-3926 www.aprperformance.com www.carbigncraft.com I will also add this info to the original GB list Quote:

My experience quoted from another thread "...(I don't like admitting this but... ) I nailed a curb full force while parking @ APR when I had the wing installed. Before I got out of the car I had visions of my splitter demolished and the bumper cracked at all the mounting points. I felt the impact hard through the steering wheel. I was bummed. I had just finished a 6 hour drive and misjudged the curb. When I finally got out of the car to inspect the damage, I was shocked. There was no damage to the bumper and the front of the splitter had a very small scratch from the impact; A scratch that can only be seen if you get down on the ground an look directly at it." I have also dragged along the bottom of the splitter through steep driveways a couple of times. It sounds awful and each time I get out of the car expecting to see catastrophic damage, but there hasn't been any yet. This is my favorite part about the splitter. It protects my bumper and it's relatively durable.
