Not playing with repairs myself any more these last 2 months, work is getting done by a legit German specialty shop. They replaced my battery with a RELIABLE 32lbs version that has 650 cranking amps and programmed it, and replaced my starter.
Now they're replacing my Aeromotive fuel pump, and also replacing the leaking diff seal.

Funny how we end up going this route. After my supercharger install and various other mods, I ended up going to a shop for everything because I was so burned out. It's so convenient to be able to drop it off and have it fixed when you return. The hard part is finding a shop that you trust.

I take mine to a shop that does a lot of German cars and as the owner can shoot the shit and talk about what a pain it is to rebuild the vanos - I know he knows = he has been trying to get a buddies Audi R10 with twin turbos to work for weeks - had the install done where the average temperature is 20' warmer so ti is a bugger. I thought I had blown the sensor unit on my boost gauge cause the car was still working well but only showing 1 lb. Foiund out that all my screw clamps loosened and he joked about how weak I must have tightened them - replaced them all with lock nut and bolt, over the top, clamps.
Funny how you can do something and after you do it get it done know you can do it and never want to do it again - well not for a while . I built a cottage on summer - electrical, plumbing and carpentry - never again - painting - f that -

I'd think a tune would be the resolution for being lean up top, unless you're getting ecu code or can somehow confirm that the stock wiring is insufficient

You could compare the amperage of the two if you're concerned about the wiring.

well ill be damned!!!! would have bee good for one of the installers to spot this may have been an issue due to our fuel pressure being so high.....
As the VF cars are running the 570 kit on the stock pump is this really needed anyway??

What is your fuel level in the tank when you are having a lean condition ? I believe that the proper solution is to install a fuel catch can with the stock pump and use the aeromotive to supply the fuel to the fuel rail. I'll post up pics in the coming month. |

I believe VF570 kit provide a different fuel pressure regulator to drop the pressure to 2.5bar and tune it out.

it says on the website that a bosch fuel pressure regulator is provided. http://vf-engineering.com/other-bmw/z4m/ I have heard it from several VF owners, maybe the Z4M setup is different and doesn't include a different FPR. |

Just to let you know that I just cancelled my aeromotive fuel pump order just now because of your feedback.
I will be using a new stock fuel pump on 7.5 psi setup. In the future i will run a fuel catch using the stock fuel pump and a 044 external to feed the fuel rail. (this is a robust solution in my opinion), this single fuel pump solution for a sports car like this is just bad engineering. |

Tika .... Gmd had this issue due to his aeromotive pump not being hard wired for adequate power supply...
If your experiencing fuel starvation , keep an eye on fuel level and don't run mad low at the track ... Simple solution.... Fuel starvation isn't something I read about a lot on these cars and their are a lot of track guys out their..... Gmd included....... Personally if the VF setup is using stock components with no issue... Don't fix something that isn't broke I say.....
