Hi guys, me again.
It's a bummer Z4um isn't working. I'll post pics and stuff when it gets back. Anyway, I'm in Key West now, about to go partake in the night life at Duvall St. The drive out here was fun, mostly sunny, with a couple thunderstorms to keep it interesting. I tried one of them top down, and the only water that got in the car was from the windscreen, and dripping down my wrist and elbow, since I had my hand up over the windshield to feel it better. I saw the reddedst sun in the world the other day. Unfortunately, it was from the smoke from all the fires in Northern Florida and GA, but still a deep scarlet orb in the rear view is something to see. I drove almost 1200 miles in two days from Austin TX to Orlando, so I could be at my brother's house for the weekend, and I must say, this is THE most comfortable car I've ever driven. My back feels great... which was NOT the case just before I started my trip. Oh yeah.. hey Floridaboy, you out there? Love-bugs SUCK!! Hahaha. I'll be heading North again soon, but still haven't decided exactly where all I'll go. I wanna be back in Seattle by the first few days in June. YOu guys have fun! Bluesie says "Hi". --Bill |

Bluesharp: Glad to here you've survived through the city who's number 1 on the nation's worst drivers' list!
I love Key West and used to go more frequently when my parents lived in Pembroke Pines. Enjoy yourself, and go to Margaritaville if they have a comedian - they're always hilarious. Oh, and if you get a chance on your way out, stop by the Whale Harbour Inn Restaurant in Islandmorada. They have the best snow crab legs, and free mimosas on Sunday mornings...have one for me darling . Miss having you around. Drive safe and keep the rubber-side down. T. |

With the site being down for so long, I wonder how the atmosphere on that site would be once it returns (doubt it'll be the same). I'm down with this site as my primary forum! But we need more diversity (more members from different nations).
I hope the DIY section will be available soon... someone should scrape the cache files off of Z4um and place them here. |

I thought I read somewhere that the website registration for that site will expire in June/July sometime. Maybe someone should take it over from Z4ce, and register the site name. That way the Z4um hooligans can have their site back and Z4ce can continue to take care of his family and relax knowing that his site's legacy lives on.

Hard to say if things would really pick up where we left off when the site went down or not after this length of time. I have seen a few names pop up on various other forums so far and just found this site this morning through a post by inTgr8r on another forum.
So far this looks like the most active landing place I have seen for the old z4um crowd.

Sucks to see you guys looking for a new home, but the admins here run nice sites so you probably found a good home here. Spread the word about this place to the old z4um ppl you see around I'm sure they'd come to see some familiar faces?

I have heard nothing new about Z4um.... I hope it comes back but all good things come to an end I guess....
I loved the "problems" section and I do not refer to Rick Hunter here :rocks: - it helped me figure out a lot of the problems I had with my old Z4M "Roaster". |

Good to see more and more faces popping in, I think we have a good club going so far, but I do agree that we badly need a DIY section here! I've already PMd MarkE90M3 about this and he assured me he is working on one for us

Rick - I just did start a Silver Gray Coupe thread over in the Photo section with some of those trip shots.
I had only been home for a day after that trip and was just finishing a good set of clean edits to the photos when Z4um went dark and wiped out my trip blog along with everything else. Someone in the Seattle area had just contacted me via Z4um's messaging about heading up to the younger Vancouver (BC that is) with a bunch of other WA Z4 owners and I got notification of a reply to my response but found that Z4um was gone before I could read it. I didn't have the actual name of whoever that was so have no idea if that gathering ever came to pass. Sigh - so many pieces got left floating in the breezes....

Well, I think when/(if) it comes back, we'll all pick up where we left off and resume with our little world. We can't just never go back, it's our 'home'. But this will be my new 'foster' home. I like it here but, when Z4um's back, I will remain faithful. I had SO many posts I wanted to write in the "Say One Thing About the Poster Above You" thread...DAMMMITTT!!!

So... who's stopping you from starting one here? If I remember correctly, Ski was the thread starter on that one.
Ski? Care to do the honours? |

Know what you mean - it's a good site but strange: there are always a lot of people viewing on the Z forum, but almost never posting. And although they are a most welcoming crew, Zroadster is very heavy UK oriented (note the Z4 forum is labeled "the UK place..."), I liked the mix the old Z4um had - with meets in America no less. As such, I see this site growing - but it will be real hard to replace the knowledge base in the "how to" and Problems sections. I'm going nuts as someone there posted a how to on replacing the convertible top microswitch. I need it!
