Haha whether or not the owner of the 458 is a decent driver or not, it's great to see that he/she is at least putting it to good use! Too many exotic car owners are missing out on the best part of ownership.
And to the OP, great driving. I enjoyed the vid. Found the heater thing quite interesting. Definitely would have never thought of doing something like that myself. Just curious, what kind of temps were you seeing that made you turn it on?

I have not had a problem with mine. Have you tried claiming BMW warranty if you think it is defective. Shouldn't cause damage from normal use.

I blast my heater all the time while @ the track. Oil temps can reach over 210* F easily, especially on a warm day. And on a colder day? The heater helps keep me warm in the car; since the windows are always down It happens though, accidental nicks here and there. Sometimes when driving spiritedly you can't control exactly where your hands end up on the steering wheel. I find that sometimes my fingernail nicks a small portion on accident =/ Last edited by mfanatic325; 10-25-2011 at 11:57 PM.. |

Good call on the heater. I guess I'm just not driving my car hard enough. When I tracked before I don't remember it ever going much past the center point.

Ehhhh iono. I'd say keep it classy leather. Suede deteriorates quickly and gets all nasty from what I hear. Good grip for track use, but definitely won't last as long as leather.

I like the new performance shift knob. Anyone tried that on a Z?
