^um, explain? i had engaged 1st gear with clutch in, so yes though technically the gear itself is not being spun by the engine, the gearbox is in 1st and thus the 6000rpm limiter of neutral is bypassed.

My point was it wasn't in first like you say, gear wasn't spinning and engine wasn't under load. 1st gear under load I'm sure will sound much different than 1st gear at idle with clutch in and shifter in first.

Yeah... I need to re-adjust them. I've done it 2x and they keep moving ever so slightly. The left muffler looks higher due to the angle of the picture.

Thanks for sharing
Is that the best they'll adjust or do you think they can be centered and raised a little more? maybe it's just the angle of the picture..

Def the angle of the picture. They are centered for sure. When I was having it installed I asked if they could raise it a little because it looked a little low when they had it lifted but I was told the mounting brackets attached to the exhaust didnt have staggered holes (i.e. cant adjust height). But once they put it back on the ground it looked fine. I guess ideally I would like to have it slightly higher but it def doesnt look awkward nor does it bother me. I would also like to comment about how great it looks in person. Before getting it I was a little skeptical as some of the pics I have seen did not paint it in a flattering light. But it fills the bumper cutouts in very nicely, tips protrude slightly (which I prefer as the stock exhaust is pretty much flush with the bumper), and the big polished tips are very eye catching. |

I've installed numerous "out-of-the-box" exhausts on various cars over the years and I can safely say they never fit perfect. They almost always require some type of adjustment, sometimes which can only be done at a reputable muffler shop who knows what they are doing.

Anyone install any magnaflow mufflers? I like the idea of not paying any more than $600 for two mufflers mounted.....

Finally I can contribute to my own thread (which should be a sticky in this forum **cough cough** )
RE Diablo cans... They're iPhone pics so bear with the quality. They may be slightly uneven but it's good enough for now. Shout out to big daddy Shakib for lending the garage space and some of his time to help me out since I picked them up out of state and didn't want to wait until I got home to do the install!

They looks like ZCPs from the E46 M3 competition package. They could also be a set of CSLs, the difference being the fronts for the CSL are .5" wider than they are for the ZCP. The rear wheels are identical between ZCP/CSL. ZCP is much more available in the US, lots of M3 owners ditching their ZCP wheels in favor of something else. M3Forums usually has a set or two available in the classified section.

Gonna try it with the stock Xpipe too, I'll post the results |
