My buddy came up to me all excited yesterday and told me he saw a license plate LUV2BGMA. He thought it meant love to bang ma. Haha. Thought about it a moment and was sad to tell him it probably meant love to be grandma.

I hate obvious plates. Like ones that say Z4M or BMW Z4 or whatever. It's .... very...creative...LOL

Mine for the past 2.5 years now.

BTW my previous E36 M3 plate was E36 S52 (chassis followed by engine code). Suppose you could do E86 S54 more unique and car centric then "Z4M BMW" general stuff

I generally agree with that. However, in my neck of the woods, vanity license plates are not offered. You can only have a conventional plate and they have a set configuration too: three alphabetical characters followed by three numbers, and the plates are issued sequentially. So, one has to either get lucky with a nice plate number, or try to persuade the local motor registration folks into getting you something decent. In view of that, I really couldn't be too choosy with the plate on my car:

HTZ-004.

Works for me!

My buddy just came up with a HILARIOUS one.. Can not stop giggling everytime I think about it but I just can't justify it quite yet. Feel like I'll get my car keyed 3 times a month with it on.

Anybody have issues with their mvious type tags?

Think those get you scoffed at more than keyed. You mainly get keyed when you act like a dick, not just appear to be one.

Probably depends whee you live. I had a personal plate on my old E36 M3 that wasn't obnoxious but it was clear that I took care of the car really well. Some person must have been jealous or had their cheerio's pissed in and then took a quarter down the side of my driver's side door.

Just sayin, adding a plate like that only makes it that much more likely. Esp probably in more major cities.

Wrong.

My jet black SL500 got keyed for no other reason than the fact that some shit didn't like the fact I had something he didn't, and I had the gall to rub it in his face by parking in his hood. All you have to do is put something in front of someone's face that rubs them the wrong way, and there are people who'll make sure you know they have a problem with it. Having a plate that encourages feelings of envy isn't a plate I'd ever put on my car. Not to mention I think plates like that send out the wrong vibe. I appreciate my car the same way that other people do when they see it and compliment it. I'd personally rather not have a plate on my car that tells everyone else "look what i got and you don't."

Just sayin'.

Yeah, alright. We have no hoods here. I guess I wouldn't know. The one time I got keyed it was in a parking garage at bar close and mine was only one of 7 cars in a line of cars that got keyed. Did it just for "fun" and not because of the car.

Ok, pretty sure I won't go with it so I'll share. Buddy suggested MPLOYED lol!!

I thought and still think it's hilarious but between the economy and all the haterade already out there, no point in practically garaunteeing a fate of vandalism. Not to mention with my luck I'd get laid off in 6 months.

Even the girl thought it was good. Esp for all the people that go "omg you're so lucky how can you afford that?!" Answer is I work for it dude.

I've got a custom plate (black plate instead of white) with randomly generated letters/numbers. I like it because you don't see very many of them so it still gives my car that exclusive look.

I'm debating getting a custom plate, since, frankly, I've never been a huge fan. I'm leaning more towards getting a plate to support my college. But I was thinking of SUBZERO, in homage to where our cars should be on the cool wall

When I rolled out with the Texas caravan to MFest, one of the E46 M3's travelling with us worked at a placed called MPOWER, i think in houtson. his ride was all blacked out very nicely and he had this plate wiht MPW3R on it. first time i had seen this plate. very subtle and nice touch, to any ride, but especially his.

Yeah, that MPLOYED one is pretty awesome. Wish I had thought about that earlier!

I thought of a new plate idea and might get it since I think the DMV is rejecting my TOPBDWN idea due to its potential sexual connotations.
Does anyone get this?
