Whatever you want to use for a reason, isn't it time to just get out of our wars?

If seeking the death of Osama bin Laden was why you went to war in Afghanistan, is it time to bring the troops home?

If you needed to see Iraq with a government that can operate on it's own after deposing Saddam Hussein, isn't it time to bring the troops home?

John McCain wanted 100 years in Iraq. Is that too much? He seemed to me the poster child for the New World Order. Read his treatise in "An Enduring Peace Built On Freedom".

While we are at it, how about our presence around the world? Should we remove our forces from foreign soil where there is not imminent threat to our nation?

Nice thought but we're not going anywhere soon. Having a foothold in the middle of Moslem Central is too valuable. It gives us influence, less flight time and it'll keep Iran on edge. We'll be in Iraq for decades. Afghanistan is a bit more of a challenge but money and Coca Cola and G.I.s can turn them too. It'll be a reduced presence but, it would be counter productive to pull out completely--not in our strategic best interests.

When the war on terror took it's present course in 2001, I figured I would be O.K. with it for about 15 years. Then if it were not done by then, it would be lost. However, the war has been very successful in stopping further damage by the enemy. As far as I can see, it is time to call it done enough. Lapse the USA Patriot Act. Let freedom ring! It is why we fought. Time to enjoy the benefits.

Yes we need to GTFO. It doesn't matter what we think though. If America and Britain have their reasons for doing something they will say anything to sell the idea to the public. They will give a million excuses why they are still there. Obama = full of shit. Guantanamo Bay is still open.

We're not fighting for anything except to keep our economy running bud. Think of how many strong, smart people have devoted their careers to military service or jobs at defense contractors. Ending the wars would put millions(?) out of work and wreck the profitability of publicly-traded companies like Boeing, Lockheed, BAE, McDonnell, etc etc etc. All of which also have lobbyists. Endless war will be the case, unless we undergo some systemic changes at home.
