Mine will be here on weds. Ordered some Wheel Wax too. Makes a big difference in the "health" of your wheels. Gonna put it on before I even mount them.

Truth is my wife wouldn't stop anything I want to do. We both have conservative spending habits. My 3 year old coupe is a major splurge for us especially close to retirement.

Ive got bout 24 years till 65. Hope the ol' 401k deal pans out. Stuck in a managerial job that pays ok but really not enough to justify my spending. I bet odds that there are only a handful of us(40 and older) out here caught up in the crazy world of spending money on a car that basically is great out of the box. Im so screwed because I have the bug bad. FI or bust. (did I say that outloud?)

LOL, I'm working hard on resisting that bug. It's worked pretty well so far in life. I'm 14 years to 65. |

So I drove the M for about 6 hrs the last couple days city, highway and lots of curvy mountain passes on my new 9" 245/40, 10" 275/35 set up and in a nutshell my thoughts are the following:
The Con - They track on every rut in the road pretty severely. There is no relaxing or spacing off while driving the car at speed. If you are passing near the triple digits you better have your hands on the wheel if you are on a less than perfect road. This is magnified when breaking hard. The front tires like to hunt for the path of least resistance. It is not an ideal road set up IMHO unless you live where the roads are perfect, you want your spouse to wreck your car when they borrow it, or you want to stay awake while driving. The Pro - So much grip that you could loan some out the the cars you are passing and have plenty to spare. I drive on the high end of the aggressive scale on the street and I just do not feel like I can drive this thing fast enough to really explore the limits on the street and keep my moral sensibilities in tact. I have a track day scheduled in August so I will be curious to see what she does at the limits. Other: The steering feels a little heavier however turn in remains quick. It kind of has an 80s 911 feel to it in my opinion. I do miss being able to drive it tail out at will which was made much easier at sane speeds with the stock set up. After I burn through this set up I will probably down size on the width 234/265 which will save me a little unsprung weight and still be plenty of tire with the current power output for street duty. That will cut down a bit on the tracking I hope. Last edited by GothM; 06-23-2010 at 01:22 AM.. |

I've been to about half the states but Missouri isn't one of them. I'm sure it's nice there too. I bought my car about 5 weeks ago in Philly. Yesterday it was 85F and 70% humidity here, about 10-12 degrees warmer than normal. Today expected about 77. Comfortable, at least more so than our winter. Back on topic I'm looking forward to seeing your new set up with pics. |

Got mine in today. Waxing them now. Great packaging and super fast ship! Unfortunately some other tuning company really Fuc*#d up my DME so it's going to take Roman and ESS an extra day to get it lined out to fix what the other company jacked up. They seem are professional and great to deal with.So no mounting till next week.

Got mine mounted and they look awesome. I will try to get some shots tonight. The 18x10 rear fit perfect and fill the massive wheel well. I have also reduced overall unsprung weight by 20lb! Woohoo! I can definitely feel the difference with the weight reduction.

Hyperblack.... but Im biased. Anthracite just looks dull, IMO.
