Tire rating
Quick question...
Does anyone run non-Z rated tires on their daily driver? I don't plan on going THAT fast through this small town and would like to save the little bit of money towards getting a good set of rims and tires for the track. Does anyone do this? Would it be wise? I'm thinking H would be plenty of grip for the speeds I travel on a daily basis... |

Good luck finding a tire in our relatively same stock tire sizes that are even at or lower than H rating. The only one that I've seen with that low of a rating is for snow tires... and unless you want to run around on those all year, then I am not sure it gains you anything.
Furthermore, I don't think the overall tire price varies THAT greatly across the speed ratings. You can get regular all-seasons or summers that are decent for pretty 'cheap' in stock sizes... e.g. Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110, General Exclaim UHP , etc etc call be had for ~$500 for a set of 4... which to me is pretty darn cheap for tires for this car. Not sure what else to say... LOL.

While C&D's results don't seem to indicate so, Tire Rack's specs has them weighing more than the PS2s. |

see, i've been looking at the v12s since i started looking, mainly for their price, but i didn't want to not spend good money for good tires, since they're what actually touches the road, contrary to why i started this thread. lol i guess when i order my arc-8s i'll wrpa them in the v12s.

they really had tremendous grip, granted we closely watched tire temps and adjusted the pressures often. Lemons does have trend wear rating limits though and these just met the requirement. Ps2's are overrated in my opinion. They were great years ago, but now there are many other choices that are more affordable and perform better.
