UUC recommends a compination of two lubricants for our gearboxes
:http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_te...nny_rattle.htm
Have anybody tried this? Does anybody know this UUC motorwerks company? Is it credible enough to publish such instructions?(note that I don't live in the States) What do you think? From What I've heard Redline ATF D4 (something like that) is the recommended oil type for manual transmissions. What do you all believe? Is it worth trying this weird combination?

VERY reputable company. Rob Levinson, the owner, is a very active contributor to the BMW community and they make top notch parts. You can definitely feel comfortable following their counsel on pretty much any topic related to BMWs!

So would you try this? Or should I go only with the ATF D4?

This is recommended for the stock tranny, right? My car is an '06 and it definitely wouldn't hurt to flush and replace the transmission fluid to get it smoother.

What he is describing is for cars with lightweight flywheels to try and get rid of the chatter. They aren't recommending it for stock cars. All it is is a mixture of fluids to allow low temperature protection, but that is still thick enough to dampen the noise.

Yes UUC is a credible source for most info. But like O-cha said, this is for cars running a lightweight flywheel only. If yours is stock, stick with 1 fluid type.

My Z has the OEM flywheel. So I will try 1 fluid type. But I don't know which one.The ATF D4 or MTL(manual gearbox). I think both are proper for use
