LED lights stays on, normal?!
Hello, apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, n00b.
Just recently purchases LED bulbs to replace the ones for license plate and side markers/repeaters, after exiting the car and arm/lock it, noticed the side and plate lights stay on, light for plates eventually go off after a few minutes but the lights for the side markers/repeaters stay on constantly but very, very dim. Is this normal? Thank you in advance. Last edited by zzE85zz; 05-28-2008 at 04:55 PM.. |

Yes this is normal. There is some talk about it in the Cosmetics section... BimmerZealot talks about it I believe.
This is because (in lamens terms) the constant small power that is always sent to the regular bulbs is enough to light the led a little. This is completely normal when switching any bulb to LED.

Yes they will stay on with some cars and off with some cars. Perfectly normal, as Hakweye mentioned, since LEDs draw such little current even the smallest bit of power left in the system will keep them lit. They should go out after awhile, either way they use so little power even on you dont have to worry about draining your battery or anything.

What LED bulbs did you use, and what website did you get them off. I have an 07 z4 3.0si and bought some that kept on burning out, got them from JSlev or something....
