What I said in that thread is 100% true, ebay headers are shitty knockoffs of SS generation 1 headers which came out right after the m3, "evosport" headers came about many years later AFTER SS and the copied SS headers showed up on ebay and just happened to "design" the same design. People with more money then brains scare me.

i agree with the fact that these are copies of supersprint headers, but i don't agree with that these are just ceramic coated and rebranded. Ebay and these aren't the same. Similar, but not the same.

I ran the Ebay headers on my old E46 M3. I paid $175 and they probably provided more power than any other mod on the car. I got 12whp with the stock ecu, OEM tune. That was way more than I actually expected from them. I used better exhaust gaskets than the ones that came with them and there was no issue with fitment. However I think that most vendors sell the E46 M3 header for the Z4M. I think there my be a couple of fitment issues with these on the Z4M. I haven't looked into trying to put them on the Z4 yet.
I don't think a more expensive better build header would have provide much more power on my car. I don't really care if they break. For $150 I'll try throw away and buy another set. I beat on them for 36k miles on and off the track and they were fine. But I would not pay $1000 for them. I change cars about every 2 to 3 years. If I was going to keep the car for a long time then quality/durability would be more important. |

/\/\ The OEM E46 M3 and Z4M headers are the same P/N.

I thought about it but never pulled the trigger. After doing the M3 then looking at my engine bay, I can safely say that on Z4M's it would be a cake job.

So I am on hold with Evosport, and they said I am mistaken and the price for the software is $990. It clearly says $490 on their website, but apparently its wrong. They are calling Powerchip to verify or some BS. I guess it's back to my first choice: ESS. At $990 this isn't as appealing to me anymore.

Yeah, still sucks. They said they'd call me back. We'll see how that turns out (I'm not holding my breath).
