And just received my Hyper Silver ARC-8's. BEAUTIFUL finish and they look amazing with brand new BMW roundel center caps. Can't wait to get tires mounted and get them on my car.

Yep yep. Car's been dirty for so long. The wheels are so light and look great. FWIW, I've had little to no rubbing issues with the 9.5 inch front wheels with 255/35's. However, I initially and accidentally tried 255/40 18's and no go. This is on an '07 Z4 M Coupe.

No rub you say? I'm running 18x9 E24 up front with 245/35 tires and I am definitely getting some rub at full lock (parking lots). Perhaps I am too low or need spacers.

Well, I haven't lowered it yet but I also never go full lock, puts significantly more strain on steering system. Now, I'm not saying it's too much strain and it'll break things, it's just one way I try to get my cars to last longer. Um, I'd say I get fairly close to full lock though and no rubbing.

Set the precedent now. At some point you setup a joint account for the shared expenses and keep your own bank account for your own stuff. My money, my stuff.
I mean it, I'm VERY happily married and this is what we do (I'm not saying it's what makes us happily married... but it does make ME happily married, LOL). I told her before we got married that I spent 25 adult years trying to get my shit together and now that I have I'm not about to have to ask someone if I can buy something. NOT GOING TO ASK PERMISSION AS A GROWN ASS MAN. PERIOD. END OF SENTENCE. PS: I realize you didn't say "ask for permission..." but wanted to help you out since you're not yet married. pictures!
Last night I saw that I had taken these a while ago. These were taken at night so they're not perfect. One of these days I'll update the other thread with better pictures. Also, that front tire is a 255/40/18 and you can tell it's a bit tall. It's a long story but those have been replaced with 35's.
Stock height, no additional camber with the 255/35's in front. Oh and as I said, I've got no rubbing in front though I don't ever turn the car to full lock. Also, I did take the car out the day after they were installed into the mountains. With the way that I drove, I'd consider it the equivalent of a track day and had no rubbing issues. Other specs below: Front: 18x9.5" ET35 ARC-8, Hyper silver Rear: 18x10" ET25 ARC-8, Hyper silver Front tires in these pics: Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport, 255/40/18 (too big), now running 255/35 R18's Rear tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport 275/35 R18 I do have a set of Fortune Auto 500 coilovers to install if I can ever get to it. Will update this and the other thread at that time. Last edited by DaveJB; 04-29-2016 at 02:21 PM.. |
