Fresh set of VMRs arrived today - WITH PICS
After waiting over a month for VMR to finish powder coating a set of v721s, they finally arrived today at long last. I will have some mounted pics posted here soon. Super stoked with how these turned out!

Haha I had some difficulty removing the stock wheels and thought I'd try some prying. Never seen wheels stick so tightly to the rotor after the lugs have all been removed. Obviously I would use a different tool when removing my new VMRs.

Thanks guys! I hear what you're saying about the stance difference between the front and the rear. There seems to be a ton of extra space in the back, but up front the stance is near perfect. VMR recommended a size 30 sidewall for the rear, and a 35 up front, which is likely the reason for the difference. I could easily fit a 35 in the rear and it would look a lot better than the 30 IMO.

With 235/35/19 in the front, you should of went with 265/30/19 in the rear to be more closer in rolling circumference to the front. 255/30/19 is slightly smaller in rolling circumference compared to the 235/35/19 front. If it doesn't rub, I would do 245/35/19F and 275/30/19R to get rid of that stretched tire fitment. 245/275 are perfect for an 8.5/9.5 wide wheels.

30% of 265mm is approximately the same sidewall height as 35% of 235mm. 35% of 265mm or 255mm would make the rear sidewall taller than the front sidewall - although, this would fill in the wheel well a bit more, but it would also increase your rake (rear end being even taller). It's also best to keep the overall rolling circumference as equal as possible (same sidewall heights) front and back to keep all the electronic nannies happy.

The outer diams are only 1.81% different which is well within the golden rule (F + R should have less than 3% difference in OD). Those rear tires are recommended for wheels ranging from 8.5" to 10" so you should have no issues. Looks good to me but preferences differ. Oh, and if anyone is too lazy to do the math there are a few nifty calculators out there like this -> www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator Many use the calculators but I think it's good to understand why/how things change rather than just knowing the answers, hence the brief explanation above Onto the pics! Are you lowered? If not, plan on it? These things look bitchin', I think the color accentuates the concave on the 9.5" too. Looks way deeper than my 18x10 VMR's, albeit they're a different model. With a drop and OEM rear spoiler I think you would take things to another level, would love to see that combo!

Thanks Tiltmode, this is all news to me so thanks for the insight!
I'm still on a stock suspension but this will be my next upgrade. I'd like some H&R coilovers, but that will probably have to wait a while. Any recommendations? |
