Clunking Sound from Passenger Side
I have been noticing this weird clunk usually when turning and going over a bump, but it's hard to pin point exactly what aggravates it. It sounds rubbery to me almost as if you were to smack a tire. First time I thought maybe I hit something on the road with the tire but then it continued to happen. Seems to be coming from the passenger side but I'm not sure if its front or rear.
I have checked the front braces and they appear to be tight, however not sure how to check the rear or what else it could be. I looked at the suspension but to my untrained eye I did not see anything out of the ordinary. Any ideas? |

First thing I would do is check the bolts under the hood on the bars going from the strut towers to the firewall. They will make noises like that if loose at all. My 06 had the issue. I torqued them down and haven't heard it in over 3 yrs.

That was my first thought because I did loosen it for another install not too long ago. Do you happen to know what the torque spec is for those? However they do not feel loose.

Rear ARB is a likely suspect like Rob said.
Specs for strut tower torque here. Note that there are two types: one that typically doesn't loosen (bolts are one time use), and the older reusable kind that do often loosen. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=504806 Bet it's the ARB though. |

Sounds silly but check uder the passenger seat. I had a similar clunking sound when going around turns and I just could not find it. When cleaning the car a few days later I found the wife's collaspable umbrella rolling around under the seat.

The clunk he is talking about (if the same as mine) is very distinctive and would not be replicable by an umbrella, no matter how fast you were turning.

I have not driven that much since I tightened the bolts, but I have not heard it since so it may have resolved the issue. Also the issue seems to have started after I replaced my windshield cover which required me to remove those so would make sense.

I didn't realize you had removed them prior to it starting- I would bet the farm on it in this case...
