Slightly odd pad wear ...

I am running StopTech 4 piston brakes all around. Just pulled off the front Hawk DTC-60 pads that were worn past halfway and noticed the the driver side outside pad was more worn than the inside. Passenger side was about even inside/out.

Any thoughts on why?

My guess is that most tracks I run are clockwise and hence trail braking into right handers puts more wear on the outside. I also tend to tap the brake pedal coming out of esses to compensate for knockback esp as pass start to wear. Does this make any sense?

Here is a picture of the pads. Nothing unusual from a braking perspective - car stops well, no pulling one side or the other, consistent pedal feel.

Just curious if there is anything going on here?

PS. I dropped a note to StopTech with this picture as well to see what they come back with.

Got back a response from StopTech that validates my thinking-

Quote:
There appears to be radial taper wear on the pads that could be indicative of pad knockback
They dont think anything is wrong with the brakes and is a function of clockwise tracks and knockback. This would explain why only the driver side outer pad sees it most. Their recommendation is a race hub that is stiffer or just get hun serviced when I am ready.

flex in the stub axle due to cornering loads.
usually when running dedicated track rubber & stiff suspension setups.

The flex causes the rotor to tilt slightly pushing (knocking) the pads back.
You then have to tap the brakes to bring them back to the rotor face.
