no its fairly easy and straightforward, just take your time, and have a good torch (flashlight) by your side

The only good reason to get a light fly wheel is if you're building a proper race car imo.

Ran the quarter mile for the first time yesterday. Ran 13.0@111 to 12.95@122.8 all night. 60 foot times consistently 2.2s. Consistent enough to get to the semifinals in the bracket racing competitions. Then in the semifinals i ran a much improved 12.6@113.6mph with a 2.0s 60 foot. Lots of videos and pics to follow. Dissapointed that i didnt get close to low 12s and 120 speeds but i think the launch pluz the florida heat was the biggest reason.

pics and videos NOW please!!!

did you get wheel hop?
did you baby the launch?
how warm was it out>???

temp and humidity was very high, about 80*F
this car will NOT do low 11s, trust me. I'm pretty sure I'm hitting 8psi of boost too..

If launching over 1500rpm I got wheel hop, the higher RPM the worse. Blame my stiff suspension and BMW's design for that. Good cars usually run the first 60 feet in 1.6 to 1.8 seconds. I was consistently around 2.2 and 2.1 seconds, the best was 2.0 seconds. The 2.0 second launch landed a .3 second faster run, so do the math. Based on 0-60 runs I've done in cold weather with a timer, my best launches are from low RPM and rolling off the clutch with minimal wheelspin. I noticed in my videos I'm laying down the power in all the gears, but chirping the tires on shifts (.1 seconds worth each). The race finishes in 4th gear.

I'm gonna start with posting my favorite runs, Vette, Viper and turbo civic. For comparison, the Viper GTS' best run was a 12.86@~116mph, so I would have beat him on my best run, but his trap speed is a bit higher. That car is a benchmark for me, as they typically run 12.0@122.

Many ppl said they usually run .5 seconds faster on colder nights. Time to fix my broken Meth injection kit....

lol love how you went past that viper like it wasnt trying!!! car sounds good,

just wondering why no tyre warming?? i still think a low 11 is possible with drag radials, warm tyres, cool air and the right launch....

that wheel hop made me wince in pain!!! our axles wont take too much of that so be careful!!

the civic race was very close, I'm surprised I launched as hard as this guy, who's been drag racing for years, and won several events. The vette race was the closest, although it doesn't look like it in the video, the timesheet shows a win by just a hair.

Maybe YOU have another stage to run to, but I don't. I'm 90% sure my trap speeds sucked because of major heat soak. I've sent a request for a replacement controller box for my AEM meth kit. That shit needs to be WORKING.

If it still doesn't help, I'll install something to spray on the intercooler's outside. jethotjethot!

Car sounds pretty quiet, its fun to watch it go. I'm gonna get my exhaust cutouts installed this week!

I didn't do any big burnouts because I'm a noob at them and didn't want to stall the car by braking too hard, and I didn't want to destroy my daily driven $$$ tires. I'll definitely run lower tyre pressures next time

Low 11s are impossible unless you have closer to 480rwhp. I'd estimate that with this heat, I'm closer to 380rwhp

no way in that heat are you running 380rwhp.... not to walk a viper like that...... , you down on power but not as much as you think.

BUT... considering you NOT warming the tyres, baby-ing the launch, on road tyres...... im impressed.... id love to see someone do an all out, warm tyres, drag radials, vt2 on a cool evening with good track prep, im pretty certain we'd all be alittle suprised!!

trap speeds tell the power, I beat the viper on his shitty run, but I'd still edge him out because I shift faster. Anyway, compare my 13 second run to his

viper 13.466 114.63
me 13.581 109.92

as you can see, his ~450hp car is 5mph faster. thats huge

Anyway, the BIG NEWS:

The exhaust cutouts are in, and I'm sooooo glad you can adjust the size of the opening with the toggle switch. You hold it down for 3 seconds for a full open, but you can tap it to tweak it.

On full open, or even 75% open, it is BONKERS loud. Plus, it opens under my seat, so I feel the pulsation of the exhaust. By lightly tapping the throttle, I can pop it as many times as I want when getting off the gas. In fact, I can make it sound like a gattling gun with 10 pops. hahahha

It does NOT sound refined, it sounds like a car with no mufflers. I'm probably gonna run it on about 25% open or so, because I attracted a lot of cops within 5 miles of road. Its REALLY fun to see a cop ahead thats waiting at an intersection that knows you're loud, but you close the valve, and you're dead silent. Then half a mile later all hell breaks loose again. Its hillarious

A lot more bass, and a lot more volume. crazy loud. let me repeat myself again. its loud!

Will take clips soon.

Good times for sure. I had cut-out/bypass valves on my turbo 240-Z and it was fun to partially close-it to feel the torque differences from full open. It was a single pipe 3" with zero 90's, only 45*.Boosted cars don't like much back pressure but NO BP seemed to weaken things in different rpms.

This mod continues the theme/ideology of my build, which is to create a easily tolerable daily driver that turns into a polar opposite on the track or any kind of competition.

Yeah, I gained 6lbs or so. I wanted something noisy for when I'm feeling like the stock is too quiet. The sound isn't as "good" as I wanted, and like all cutouts, this one has a very small leak that you can hear when its closed. In fact, I don't really like the sound at full throttle either. It sounds its best driving at partial throttle downtown, where the sound reverberates and bounces off building walls, it sounds like a full exotic cruizing by.

I wanted to do this mod so I can have a loud exhaust AND a very quiet exhaust at the same time. I did not want an aftermarket muffler that can become annoying, and then I'd be stuck with it. Its such a pleasure to press that button and go back to the stock sound. Plus, I'm sure it picked up a couple of horses, probably between 5 and 10. I'll dyno after my meth kit is fixed
