Volk Wheel Hubcentric Rings

Just putting this here for those that have Volk wheels and might be needing hubcentric rings. I've already done some research for you folks

What you'll need are FOUR (4) 75mm --> 72.56mm rings. I'd recommend getting aluminum/metal hub rings if you do any tracking at all, as cheaper plastic ones will melt at track temps.

You can order hubcentric rings from various online vendors, but here's one to start off the thread:
https://www.1010tires.com/store/p-93...-set-of-4.aspx

Just for reference, I personally spent about $50 USD for a full set of four aluminum rings, shipped to me.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions. Happy motoring!

Did you have to replace plastic ones or something?

Yup! The ones that came with my wheels upon purchase were urethane ones, which were already an upgrade from normal plastics, but they too couldn't take the heat. And I also got some PM's regarding the topic so I figured I'd post it up for the good of all that read

Oh do they now? Because I was under the impression-from some quick research-that Volk just did 75mm center bores for all BMWs, since that way it's less work on them and they have a one size fit all application. Apparently some 5-series have slightly larger hub bore than the usual 72.6mm

I'm not sure why they did it but my VR.G2 are made with 72.6

Actually intgr8r and daemon are both right, yes not all BMW hubs are the same. But Volks requiring hubcentric rings doesn't really have to do with that. When Volks released wheels for BMW, I'm almost certain the fitments were not meant for the e39 so they all require hubcentric rings. But every once in a while you may come across a set of special order wheels that are already hubcentric.

One example: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=804763

Those hubcentric Volks must have been custom-ordered/made. Others--part of Volks' typical run batches--were bored to 75mm for one-size fits all applications (with the use of hub rings of course)

Everyone's right in here. Why are we so damned smart? Can't we be wrong for once?

The correct hub size is one of the features of the VR.G2.
With the G2 they do it for all the various model fitments.
I guess it's just a feature of this particular Volk wheel .

Good to hear. I should be getting mine in another week or so (assuming they sent the rings via ground shipping).

I got my rings in today and surprisingly they're blue anodized
I personally don't mind, since I currently have blue lugs, and there's some blue Volk stickers on my wheels. Plus, you can't really see the hub ring once installed anyhow.

I swapped my old warped and cracked urethane-plastic rings out with these aluminum ones and went for a test drive. Found a noticeable decrease in wheel vibration and smoothness
