Street/autoX tire article
Was looking around here for some good talk on tires but didn't really find what I was looking for. This article compares several sets of good street/track tires and does a very good job of getting to the point. I ended up getting the hankook v12.

Ventus V12 evo K110
Just wanted to share my experience with the Ventus V12s. I have been running them for two years and have put 17,000 miles on them. As they are a summer tire, it should be of no surprise that they start to lose their grip around 40 degrees. I didn't drive a lot in the rain, but the few times I was caught in heavy blinding showers they were terriffic in their performance. During those two years, I've never had to add air.
I've enjoyed every minute with them, but with 17K miles they are pretty much worn out and I find I dial back spirited driving a notch or two. OTOH it is a bit of fun to take a twisty road and watch the DSC light dance on and off, even with the dialed back driving. Even with serious wear I still find the fronts offer no unusual vibration feedback at higher speeds. I will definitely buy another set, as the current Tirerack price of $588 for a set of 4 is a great value--although I buy at Discount as they match TRs pricing. I've driven in the Southwest, including Death Valley, in August with temperatures in excess of 100 degrees for hours at a time around the century mark and always felt safe and sane with these guys, gggg. |

everyone has their opinion, but other than treadwear and price, I don't like my hankook v12s for wet grip (even with stock power) and dry grip with the blower installed

yeah with a supercharger i would definitely want to step up to the best performing level of street tires.
honestly they are all pretty close. it comes down to what your really looking for, and temperature and road conditions can change what tire performs better for you. here is a tire test http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/top-tires/ http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/art...-tires-part-1/

If you're not going to autocross or track, then tire choice usually isn't that big of a deal.
When you autocross, actually choosing a tire matters. Grip, slip level, heat cycling...etc all comes into play. I myself jumped on the RS3 wagon and ordered some for next year. |

I've been running the V12's on the autocross track and am not happy with them. It takes too long for them to get grip. I am going to give the RS3's a try though.
