Tinting - Roadster
I'm about to tint the two windows on my Roadster. I'm debating tinting the back window but have a question...
I have clear wind blocker on my Roadster. Has anyone tinted that instead of the rear window? If so, anyone have pics? I'm thinking doing that may get rid of some of the glare on the dash when sun is getting low, etc...

I've never done it but it would be the same as doing your rear window basically. Except easier b/c its removable!

Have you thought about how it will look with top down & side windows up? When I had a roadster, that was one of the reasons I never got tints.

Black car, black tint, will look cool anyway you look at it. Quote:
My roadster is Black/ black wheels/black grills, red interior.. so I'm good to go with that thought!

One other plus is it gives a little added privacy when you want it. At night it's pretty sick looking. You'll like it.
I'm considering black wheels. What did you get? I'm also considering powder coating the aluminum interior panels black. I'm going all Spinal Tap on it. |

I think it would look odd without tint on the rear window really. I have 20% all around and it works great. I never get bad glare from the dash and I can still see when driving at night.
Here is an older picture in the shade showing the rear window: And a newer picture showing more of the side from the front in the sun: |

Thanks for the pics! Good info. Yeah. I think I just need to have them do the rear window as well. I was thinking about just having them do the wind breaker instead, but think it would be better if they do the rear window instead.

Bhoch,
If you look at my post here http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=560190 ...I have some pics of my car I'm selling. I'm not actively selling it as it's my daily driver. But it shows black MR with tinted windows on side and back. I hope that helps you give an idea of what it's like on black M. I agree with the other poster...kinda weird to have side windows tinted and not the back window. Good luck. |

Thanks imom! Yeah, I'm leaning more towards tinting sides and rear window. Have an appointment for Tuesday to "get R Dun"

Looks good hogzilla... I'll try to post some pics after I get my windows tinted. I am planning on doing the back window as well.

Not to pick a fight with you...but Have you lived in a sunny state like Arizona, Texas, or Cali? You want tint: especially with a darker color car. I believe it doesn't look bad at all...hardly noticeable a good light tint...and if done right will last for a long time. I haven't noticed one defect.
The only minor drawback I think of...it may mess with the auto dim feature. |
