BFD exists in our cars for sure, and you have to slam on the brakes for them to come on. They do not just blink during "normal" braking.
The feature may not be active out of the factory. If you need to enable it, it'll require some coding but it's not hard. You'll find it in the LSZ under the features with prefix "BFD_".
