I'm doing this right now and replacing everything. Should be done in the next couple of days. Will be using:
Alpine CDA-117 head unit
Alpine PHA-H100 Imprint Audio Processor
Alpine CE-250BT Bluetooth Adapter
Alpine PDX-F4 amp for front & rear
Alpine PDX-M6 6 for sub
Alpine SPR-13S 5.25" component set up front
Alpine SPR-17w 6.5" midbasses in the existing sub locations
Alpine SWR-T10 10" thin sub in a custom fit enclosure just behind the battery
Keeping the stock rears behind the headrests, will be powered by the HU. Will fade in as necessary for fill
I really didn't want to replace everything but after researching all of the options in keeping the stock head unit and trying to make something work in the stock sub locations I decided to just bite the bullet and replace the whole thing. The cost of summing interfaces and a EQ alone costs more than a replacement head unit.
This won't sacrifice much space (everything but the sub can be hidden entirely), will sound great and I still keep all the steering wheel controls, bluetooth, etc. Should still look stock after it's done.
