For my car, there is no relationship at all between the VIN and the four digit bluetooth code.
If you try to see the code on the TCU unit in the trunk, look for the for-digit code that begins with "PK" and then the four numbers. A small digital camera taped to a stick could be handy, come to think of it!!!
