I had a similar thing with MCS.
The issue is two fold.
One is the e36 damper length
Second is the lost space taken up by the camber plates.

Those GCs look like they take up a lot of space above the upper perch.

On my MCS the Vorshlag plates were also taking up a lot of space.
They did a modification for me that recovered about an inch which worked out fine.

Also you can check your damper shaft travel by putting a zip tie around the shaft.
When it compresses, the zip tie moves up the shaft.

Your spring length makes zero difference but 6 is correct.
If you put in a longer spring you will lower the bottom perch to get the same ride height = no difference in damper reaching end of stroke.

Ride height however does make a difference.
