Possibly running into bank loan issues now as well with the age of the car? Most banks won't loan out on vehicles older than eight years, so for these cars to get top dollar on sale (private buyer not CarMax etc.) you most likely need a private, all cash buyer. So, you need somebody who really wants the car, and has $28k-35k in cash to pay for it. You're looking at an extremely small set of people who meet both of these requirements.

Let's face it too, it's an eleven year old BMW which quite frankly scares the pants off most people in regards to maintenance/reliability.
