Sounds like they fed you the line 'cos they didn't wanna spend the time and money to get it done right. I've had bumpers and side skirts painted a few times on a few of my gray cars, aside from one bad experience, the color all matched pretty well. If I can notice your color mismatch on the small screen of my iPhone.....
