I also get called 'sir' and sometimes by people in their 60's and 70's. I guess I can be overbearing
For the thread and on-topic - there is nothing wrong with your parents buying you a BMW. Enjoy it if they do. Heck - I wish my dad had bought me a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano!
