Ditto!! I would definitely not dye the top, even if is a very faded originally black top. I would worry that the resulting finish would be spotty or uneven or that the dye process could damage the top material. If you are really unhappy with it, I'd suggest a new top, such as the "good as OEM" tops available from Autotopsdirect.com for a fraction of OEM cost.
But if the top is working properly and is watertight, I think you'd be much better off spending your money on other mods, such as some new Apex or VMR (718s are wicked) rims.
