Yes, I used to think the same prior to moving here. However, we also have some of the worst roads and traffics in the country. My 30 miles commute usually take 1:30-2:00 hours (rush hours are usually between 7:30-9:30 in the morning and 4:00-7:00 in the afternoon). There are no ways around it unless you are fortunate enough to have work from home option.
It is very nice of the OP to organize these drive for us to blow off some steams;-)
Anyone from the bay area planning on going. My buddy and I are thinking of going so let's see if we could get a caravan to Sacramento.
