  • Four T9 screws hold the assembly together, take them all out
  • The backing cover is held in place by two tabs up top and three on the bottom. Taking the backing off will expose a circuit board with sensitive parts, so be careful. I did think about ripping the annoying beeper off, or maybe putting a piece of tape over it to quiet it down.
  • The front comes off with by unhooking two tabs and the stubborn buttons (easy to see if you look at the long buttons).
  • I cleaned my plastic lenses with Plexus and a microfiber towel. Then used Meguair's Quick Detailer to clean the dust out of the corners inside and out.
  • I used my air gun to get any last dust out.
  • Reassemble
  • Plug the one connector back in, make sure it's seated all the way. You'll hear the needle motors reset (startled me).
  • Slide back in and put the single T20 screw back in

Nice and clean now!

You'll have to reset the clock, and your trip, MPG, etc will reset.

Hope this helps!
The T20 was a pain, but everything was simple!

Thanks for the step by step, and yes the needle reset made me jump a bit even with warning.
