I thought they would be covered since I thought he said "before warranty was up", implying they were warranty items but then I asked and he gave me the above prices for the services. Do you guys think I should have them done? If I do I will probably do myself or take to an independent shop to avoid paying dealer prices.

so what was the issue? and ya don't pay the 500 bucks. I think an indy shop will charge 100-150 to do both jobs
