Let's not confuse the issue here. 
The OP has a S54 3.2L powered Z4 M Roadster not a 3.0L powered Z4. Your Z4 3.0 came from the factory loaded with BMW's Castrol 5W-30 synthetic and your Owner's Manual indicates "Approved oils belong to the 5W-40 and 5W-30 classes".
