I am also having new plugs installed while they are there. : ) easier access I would think.
Absolutely no way to tell without actually rechecking the shims.

This is definitely not the job where you take your car to a new shop and see how they do. You need to trust them 100%, because a lazy shop could easily drop a shim in and not bother to tell you.
