I usually just piece meal it together from various sites (ECS, fcpeuro, getbmwparts, etc) - whomever have it in stock or short lead times for the lowest price (after shipping), because I'm cheap
I think you need to first determine what you want to do at an independent as not all independent shops will accept parts that bring in. Then work on your list from there.
