You should just get the extended ones. I can sell you my stud nuts because I ended up not using them. The nuts are shaped so that just prior to loosening them from the stock studs, they get binded. End result: you eventually back the studs out altogether. If I were to do the headers over again, I'd get all new studs at the same time.
