Need new tires
Can anyone recommend me some budget tires for track days?
I currently have a set of evo v12(rears have less than 30%) on my car, and a set of almost new Cooper RS-3S in the garage that came with the car. I ran the last track day with the V12 and I definitely feel like I could use a little more traction/grip. My next event is coming up so I'm exploring different options on what tires to run..
Here are few options I'm considering:
1 Run the crappy cooper RS-3S for next event - No extra expense, but I have no idea how good/bad those tires are.
2 A set of Federal 595 RSR - cheap, around $150 per tire
3 A set of Rs3/Z2/Re11 etc - more expensive ~ $250 per tire
I am planning to run another 5-6 events, and I would like to spend less than $200 per tire if I could. What would you guys recommend? Any other alternative options?
