Thanks! I use a Canon SX10 IS "superzoom" camera. It has all the manual features I need, and it's not too large or expensive.
Lately I've been doing "high dynamic range" (HDR) photograph, where you take three different exposures of a scene and combine them digitally. This process substantially improves the shadow and bright-area detail and provides a lot of creative control.
